a brief overview
Blue Candidates & Ballot Info
The November election is important for our Governor, State, and Federal as well as several constitutional ballot questions.
Local voices like school board and county commission are voted in the primary (with super low turnout, we are not getting our voices heard with our amazing candidates).
Dr. Jason Martin for Governor
Please visit his campaign website for more information.
"Coming from outside the political establishment, Doctor Jason Martin has not spent his career in back rooms with out-of-touch lawmakers. Instead, he’s dedicated his life to improving the lives and livelihoods of everyday Tennesseans."
Odessa Kelly for Congress - District 7
Dickson and Hickman Counties. Running against incumbent Mark Green, Odessa Kelly is a strong representative for the people of Tennessee and our district. Her campaign website is here.
"Odessa was born and raised in Nashville. She spent nearly 14 years as a civil servant and co-founded Stand Up Nashville, a non-profit community organization that fights for working families. She has seen firsthand how the political and economic system is rigged against working families who’ve spent their lives playing by the rules. Odessa has organized diverse coalitions and already delivered for Tennessee — now she’s ready to take the fight to Congress."

Heidi Campbell for Congress - District 5
Lewis County. Running against Andy Ogles, Heidi Campbell has the experience to represent us.
"When you grow up in Middle Tennessee, you already know how special it is: communities defined by the land, our shared values, and the character of her people...where the bridges that connect us are much stronger than forces that aim to divide us. As a Mom, a Mayor and a Senator, I believe common sense and common ground have become much too uncommon in today’s politics. We will always be stronger united than we are divided." - Heidi Campbell
Candie Hedge for State Rep - District 69

Ballot Info
YOU MUST VOTE FOR A GOVERNOR IN ORDER FOR YOUR VOTE TO COUNT FOR THE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS.
There are FOUR constitutional amendments on the November 2022 ballot.
Amendment 1 : VOTE NO!
See the blog post with more information about this. The wording is intentionally misleading. We are already a 'right to work' state which means anyone can be fired for any reason without due process. This is also a union busting anti-labor policy.
Amendment 2: Is to allow for the Speaker of the House to remain Speaker instead of resigning if in the emergency situation that the Speaker must act in the Governor role.
Amendment 3: Vote Yes. Changing the language regarding slavery to be “Slavery and involuntary servitude are forever prohibited. Nothing in this section shall prohibit an inmate from working when the inmate has been duly convicted of a crime.”
Amendment 4: This amendment would delete article IX, section 1 of the Tennessee Constitution, which prohibits ministers of the gospel and priests of any denomination from holding a seat in either House of the legislature.
